The saga surrounding Youri Tielemans continues to rumble on as Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle continue to be linked

Arsenal have “agreed personal terms” with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, if recent reports are to be believed. It comes as the Belgian finds himself embroiled in a transfer saga that is at a standstill.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle continue to be linked with a move for Tielemans, who only has 12-months remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium. Without a new deal in sight, the 25-year-old could move this summer as the Foxes won’t want to lose him on a free and have to raise funds before they make any signings of their own.

football.london understands that a central midfielder ranks highly as a priority for the Gunners in the rest of the window, with Tielemans thought highly of. It is reported that roughly £25million could land the Belgium international this summer.

However, Arsenal’s battles with other teams may make a move tricky. Mikel Arteta has already faced off against the Red Devils in one transfer saga, losing out on a move for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez who switched to Old Trafford for roughly £51million.

The Gunners may have more hope in landing Tielemans over the Argentina international though, if recent reports are to be believed. That’s because CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “As Leicester have said and as I’ve said repeatedly, Arsenal have never made an offer for Youri Tielemans.

“What they have done is gone to the player and agreed personal terms, broadly speaking. What they do know is that Tielemans would like to move to Arsenal.”

Should the side have tied that aspect down, it could be a huge boost to their chances of landing the midfielder. As Raphinha showed with his switch to Barcelona, getting the player on side with the move may be the most important aspect to a deal.
