Transfer News: Harry Kane’s stance on signing a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur
According to Football.London, Harry Kane is open to discussing a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur if the club wish to start discussions.
The 28-year-old striker is one of the best in the business when it comes to scoring goals. His playmaking abilities make him a complete centre-forward that any team would be lucky to have.
And that is why it wasn’t that surprising to hear Julian Nagelsmann commenting on Kane earlier this month. Antonio Conte found it disrespectful of the Bayern Munich manager.

However, with Robert Lewandowski now at Barcelona, it is clear that Bayern have a big void to fill in their attack. From Kane’s perspective, it isn’t hard to see why the striker wanted to move to Manchester City last summer.
Kane must stay
Despite winning numerous individual accolades, he is yet to win silverware at the club. That is, of course, a shame considering how he has always managed to hold up his fair share of weight in the team.
Kane currently sits at 183 goals and 47 assists across 282 Premier League games. These numbers just prove what Spurs fans already know, that the England international is one of the finest strikers of our generation.

Kane is believed to be earning £300,000-a-week in wages at Spurs and is on a contract that expires in 2024. Tottenham’s board would also do well to learn from Liverpool in this regard.
The Reds spent an abnormally long time negotiating a new contract with Mohamed Salah and could have lost him for nothing next year. A similar situation must not arise with Kane and the club would be smart to tie him down to a long-term deal at the earliest.
