Coach Pep Guardiola received extremely positive news when Ruben Dias returned to training with Man City after a month of absence.
Dias suffered a muscle injury at the end of the match against MU. The injury marks the second time Dias has been injured this season, having previously missed five games in November due to a calf injury.
When Dias was injured, Guardiola initially estimated that the defender would be out of action for about a month. The Spanish coach emphasized the circumstances of the injury: “Ruben had to take a long break. Dias will take 3 to 4 weeks. In the 75th minute against United, he felt a muscle problem. He is very strong and wants to continue playing, but now he has to rest.”
According to journalist Jack Gaughan, Dias has returned to training with the rest of the Man City squad. His presence on the field shows that the recovery process is going according to plan, giving hope that the defender can return to action.
The timing of Dias’s return is consistent with City’s busy schedule, when the team is still competing in many tournaments including the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
Guardiola’s men will face Ipswich Town next Sunday, but it remains unclear whether Dias will be fit enough to take part in the match.
