Graeme Souness has told talkSPORT that Dejan Kulusevski is one to watch and claimed that the Tottenham Hotspur star is almost Kevin De Bruyne-esque

Kulusevski has picked up where he left off last season. The Sweden international scored five goals and contributed eight assists in just 18 Premier League games following his move from Juventus in January.

And he has already opened his account in both categories at the start of this campaign. He set up Ryan Sessegnon for Tottenham’s equaliser against Southampton. And he rounded off the scoring with a brilliant finish in the second-half.

There is little doubt that signing Kulusevski was a masterstroke from Tottenham. And Souness has outlined just how impressed he has been by the youngster.

The pundit was asked which modern day player he would love to feature alongside. And after immediately opting for De Bruyne, Souness insisted that he is extremely excited about the Spurs star.

“Kulusevski, I think, watch him. I think he’s De Bruyne-esque if you like, and he’s 22 years old,” he told talkSPORT.

Kulusevski is De Bruyne-esque

Tottenham fans will be delighted if Kulusevski proves to be anywhere near as prolific as De Bruyne over the span over his Premier League career.

The Belgian has 145 goal involvements in 211 league games in the Premier League.

In terms of goal involvements per game, Kulusevski is currently out in front. But obviously, the youngster’s number should drop the longer he is in the league.

Having said that, the frightening thing is that the forward has time to improve further.

It is remarkable to think Tottenham signing Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur on the final day of the January window seemed like panic buying.

Signing the pair has been a brilliant move from Spurs.
